Abstract for “Linking users to live social networking interactions based upon the users’ actions relative content”

A system or method that makes use of internet content and/or metadata to create social networks. One example is linking internet users, searchers and/or viewers of the same or similar internet content to one another via a platform that allows any of the following in n dimension environments: communications, sharing and social networking; push and pull applications; anonymous communications and rich presence.

Background for “Linking users to live social networking interactions based upon the users’ actions relative content”

“The internet is the largest and most comprehensive network in the world that is accessible to the average person. Nearly anyone can access the internet to instantly get content from any source. Content-based experiences via the internet are still a very individual experience. Every user can access, download and view content. Although others can simultaneously access and view the same content and may also send it to them via e-mail, or other similar means, the content is still passive. Social interaction is largely separate from content.

Search tools like GOOGLE or YAHOO! Search tools such as GOOGLE and YAHOO allow users to enter keywords to guide their search and return relevant results. These search tools do not allow users to access content. They only link them with others who share the same interest. There are many chat rooms, forums and interactive games that can be used to communicate with other users. However, they must first be discovered and then contacted by the user to have access to them.

“Content and users are thus kept in a relatively separate area of internet space. Any overlap between them is limited to the creative and affirmative actions of each user. Furthermore, users cannot create links between themselves that are not temporally related. For example, a chat room user can’t interact with users that aren’t in the room at the same time. Because of this, there are not many opportunities to socially link users with similar interests.

“At the moment, there don’t appear to be any tools that allow users to instantly connect with others who share a similar interest by using content as a linking base. The existing internet interaction methods (or any other network) are limited in their ability to share content between users. Users continue to search the internet for content, as well as for interactions with people who share similar interests.

“The preferred embodiment of the invention includes a system, method, and graphic user interface (GUI), which uses internet content to establish social networks. This platform links internet users, searchers and viewers of the same or similar content to one another via an internet platform that allows any of the following in n dimension environments: social networking, communications and sharing, push and pull applications and anonymous communications. The exemplary nomenclature is?ADDnCLICK? This is a convenience reference only. No limitation is intended nor should it be interpreted as such.”

“The ADDnCLICK GUI offers n-dimensional (nD), (e.g. Three-dimensional (3D), models of landscapes and buildings, rooms, desktops or other items, as well as software applications, accessories, decorations, transparency, etc. Websites, documents, and other web pages. against a visual background. The like are created, edited and presented on a computer, a Personal Digital Assistant, a cellular phone and/or any device that can connect to the internet or another type of network (hereinafter called the?Device’). The ADDnCLICK system uses the internet to allow such models to be shared with others in an interactive online environment where metadata is used to link users to social networking. ?Metadata? Metadata is information about data or other information. Metadata is usually structured, encoded data that describes one of the characteristics of information-bearing material to assist in locating, discovering and linking content with one or more metadata tags. The metadata described herein can be linked to content to identify the same or similar content. It also provides a basis for linking users using same/similar content via social media.

“The method involves the use of Content (as described herein, please see below) in order to enrich a user?s life and to connect users with others who share similar interests. For commercial gain, branding can be added to the Content or within the ADDnCLICK environment. (ADDnCLICK, Inc., the assignee of this patent, is the trademark for ADDnCLICK. All rights reserved worldwide

“The invention enables users (viewers/listeners) to view and listen to content together by the association of shared interests that they have. This is determined by an analysis of metadata of the Content they are viewing or listening too (or that they have defined, e.g. in a search or through an invitation). In a social network that allows communication, sharing, anonymity, financial gain, etc.

“Numerous references to the internet?” This description is an example of a network embodiment. These references may include the World Wide Web (the “Internet”). These references can include the World Wide Web (the?Internet?), but they are only illustrative. The invention’s embodiments could work and offer benefits equally or substantially when implemented on various restricted access networks and/or entirely private networks, public networks, or other systems of electronically interconnected devices and/or nodes. Arpanet, proprietary intranet system, highly censored national networks, and others could all be examples of networks that are available according to alternate embodiments. A network can also be configured partially or completely as a wireless network (e.g. WiFi, WiMax satellites, cellular, etc.). Or wired network. Therefore, the term “the internet” is used. These terms are meant to cover any network with which or within which Content can easily be provided and/or accessed.

“How the Invention Works”

“A complete summary of the invention is given in the series fifty-four slides that are represented by FIGS. FIGS. 1A-1Z, 1AA-1ZZ and 1AAA-1HHH are a series of fifty-four slides that provide a detailed overview of the invention and its processes. However, the architecture of the invention and the implementation are not limited to these examples. The invention covers all possible means to achieve the net result of simultaneously linking users of similar content on the internet via a universal platform of social networking. It also allows richer communications, sharing and advertising.

“The ADDnCLICK app that is downloaded to the computer of the user in art embodiment will install a persistent client window (PCW), that can always reside (as an open window) on the desktop and/or display of the device.

“The PCW that is residing on the user?s Device as an open window in an n dimensional environment (e.g. as a Window/Room), has browser-type characteristics (search, messaging etc.). These properties allow the user to?push? and define their needs. Information that is important to the user. The PCW would?push’ a website or community (such Google) that encourages and sponsors users to use the ADDnCLICK app. The PCW would push specific videos, news and other topics to their viewers. The PCW can be closed or minimized. The PCW remains in its “always open” state. The PCW allows these websites/web communities to be the first thing they see when their computer turns on (alongside any other content that may be available on their Devices).

Once the PCW is installed on the device, an additional Window/Room will be opened on the user?s device. It contains a thumbnail-sized representation of the Content clicked on and their user ID information. The ADDnCLICK application will simultaneously link the user with other ADDnCLICK Users (into the same Window/Room), who have clicked the same or similar Content. They will also be able to bring with them thumbnails of the Content they clicked on. The ADDnCLICK process allows you to link any content with social media. ADDnCLICK users have the ability to communicate with other users on the same topic. They can simultaneously view the content and communicate with one another. To communicate with other users in the ADDnCLICK Window/Room, drag and drop content. You can create your own ADDnCLICK room for storing content or bookmarking.

“The ADDnCLICK app can be used as a massive underlayer connecting all the content on the internet to push applications and use the metadata to make ad revenue opportunities.

“Web communities (such Google, YouTube and Veoh.com, LaLa.com. MySpace, CyWorld.com. Yahoo!, MSN., etc. Individual users or web communities will be encouraged to register the location (descriptive language tags and descriptive language tags of their Content) with the ADDnCLICK registry in order to receive revenue sharing or other financial gains. The Content will be maintained by the ADDnCLICK registry servers, which details its location and description.

“According to a new anonymous subscriber process, which was disclosed in the ANONYMOUS patent applications, the ADDnCLICK application may also allow users anonymous communications online and offline (e.g. through any communication means). The invention allows the subscriber to create an account with a server, and then establish an associated token. The token is associated with information of interest. An advertisement for an item, an auction item, a personal advert, or any other information. Any media can be used as the publication media, such as newspapers, magazines, flyers, radio and television. Newspapers, magazines, flyers and radio can all be used as publication media. The subscriber receives a call from the caller. The server establishes the call based on the token the caller provided. The subscriber can then initiate an anonymous callback after the call has ended. This is possible if the caller has provided callback information to the server. One embodiment allows the caller to establish a token with server for callback purposes.

“In accordance to the novel caller process, the caller examines the information and notifies the server of the token. The caller calls the server to request the token. The system is explained to the caller and an anonymized option is provided for them to give callback information. The subscriber will be connected to the caller if the call is successful. After the conversation is over, the caller might be offered additional options, such as anonymous callback. anonymous callback. The subscriber may be reached by voicemail if they are unable to be reached. If this happens, an anonymous callback may be offered.

“System Architecture:”

“Three types?rooms?” These include private, public, and sponsored?rooms. Private?rooms are also described. Later, we will discuss private?rooms. Both public and sponsored?rooms are described below. Below are descriptions of both public and sponsored?rooms. Sponsored ‘rooms? Below are branded ‘rooms? described. This invention uses?Windows? Alternatively,?Windows? One or more of these can be used: A scene, an environment and a landscape. Websites, documents, and web pages. against a background of visuals, etc. (any or all these are hereinafter called the “virtual environment?”). That are created, edited and presented on a display device such as a computer, a Personal Digital Assistant or (PDA), and/or any device that can connect to the internet (hereinafter called the?Device ?).”).

FIG. 2 illustrates content registration. 2. An iconic flowchart. At 200, a user, e.g. An author visits the host site. The author visits 202 to learn more about the invention system (i.e. The system’s ability to connect viewers with similar content in a shared visual platform. This optionally includes areas sponsored by advertisers, which may generate ad revenues that can be shared with the content creator and/or user. The author registers at 204 his or her contact information, e.g. In exchange for a free copy of the software, the author registers at 204. Registering includes a description about the person based on parameters and criteria required by advertisers to place user-specific ads. The author can download the software at 206. The author creates a video or photo, text, music, or other content at 208. Web pages and/or websites can be included (from any internet community, such as MySpace, YouTube or Google, Cyworld or PCHome). Any material that is of interest to users. video conference calls, television or satellite video clips, live television or satellite video feeds, etc), blogs, podcasts, vlogs, music, speech, sound; any other form of electronic/non-electronic media and/or content that is or can be visually displayed, spoken (e.g., oral content) and/or listened to and/or otherwise communicated (such as by handwriting, gestures, meaning, inference, etc. Any information that is accessible by the user (including Web sites, images, music and audio, driver and software software downloads as well training, educational and reference materials), file formats, software codes and advertisements; the code characters between, the start tag and the end-tag of a document or element that can easily be interpreted as data (e.g. animated GIFs), applets or objects, ascii scripts, images used to create list bullets, spacers or graphics buttons, sounds (played without any user interaction), and video)

“Also, or in addition to creating Content, the author can upload Content to his/her computer at 210 from an external source such as a video library or favorite website, or a digital camera. The author edits video/photo/text using editing software at 212. The author exports Content to a digital format ready for distribution via the internet at 214. MOV, WMV and MPEG files. The author can open his/her Content by clicking 216. The system software guides the user through the process of adding keywords to the code that describe the Content so it can be found in relevant searches. You can do this by either tagging the content with metadata descriptors, or using any other method. The system software provides a format that allows sales from user sessions to be tracked back to the original Content.

“At 218, an author can add clickability objects or hotspots to the Content.”

“At 220 the author exports the tagged Content in a proprietary and open system software format. The background uploads the content identification data to the system software registry servers. These details will be explained in detail below. Sponsors pay the website provider, e.g. ADDnCLICK, Inc. (assignee for the present invention) for any use made of registered content that leads users to the ad-sponsored?rooms.

“At 222 the author uploads the exported proprietary Content to the website provider. This upload is intended for Content sharing websites to make the content available online. Uploads will not be affected by any changes to the proprietary format or identification information (e.g. The Flash video format formatting of the author’s video. The Content is accessible by clicking on 224. When clicked on, the logo of the system software provider is displayed. The user can be connected to other users by clicking on similar or identical content (the “Window/Room”). This environment allows the user to communicate with other internet users via text, voice, and/or video in the shared software’s public or sponsor Window/Room environment.

“At 226, user interaction, e.g. Software at a sponsored website tracks user interaction, including completed sales, as long as the user continues browsing. Through the secure online registry of the website provider, a percentage of each completed sale is credited back to the author. The website provider sends the author an email at 228, informing him or her about the accumulated compensation. There are many ways to get compensation. Miles, credit for purchases on a sponsor’s website and/or credit to be used towards a bill from credit card companies are some of the compensation options.

FIG. 3 illustrates content viewing and interaction. 3. An iconic flowchart. A user clicks Content in the ADDnCLICK format at 300. You can upload text, video, photos, audio or any other content that is compatible with the ADDnCLICK format. The user is placed in a Window/Room with one or more?Walls at 302. A Wall that displays the content being viewed by the viewer (pre-click). One Wall shows the entire screen of what the user clicked, as illustrated at 304. The user can view smaller screens on the Walls that show what other viewers have clicked while they are online. Users are placed into a Window/Room based on individually-articulated preferences or, simply and automatically, based on the same or the similarity of the content they are reading, viewing and/or to which they are listening and/or otherwise engaged and responding.”

“Those skilled in the art will recognize that a Window/Room may be presented to a user using any criteria. In Windows, for example. The Window/Room is an operating system environment that allows the user to present the Window/Room in any window that is open (or minimized). This allows the user to multitask and social network in accordance to the teachings. Windows? allows multiple windows to be opened simultaneously. This means that a user can interact with multiple user groups simultaneously in Windows?. The Window/Room may also be full-screen. In this case, the social networking and communication software that was invented can take over the whole screen of the device. It can be displayed in any form that is suitable for viewing and presentable under other operating systems.

An avatar represents the user at 306 who is currently in the Window/Room. To interact with other viewers in the Window/Room, or Content, the user can move about within the Window/Room. An avatar, for example, can take the form of a human or an object that contains a photograph of the user. It can also be static or moving. An avatar is any representation (even symbolic or textual), of a user. It can be selected by the user or provided by someone else (e.g. automatically, randomly or generated by software). The avatar can be animated, and even take on the physical characteristics and gestures that the user. The user can view other relevant Content on one or more Walls while simultaneously logged in to the sponsored Window/Room. Current users bring Content from their favorite websites or web communities to the sponsored Window/Room environment at 310. Talking with other viewers in the Window/Room allows them to collectively view any large-screen Content (e.g., video snippets or feature films that have been created by someone else in that Window/Room). Click on the Content. This is now a shared experience for all users who are?present? metaphysically or sensorily. “In the Window/Room”

The Window/Room may depict a scene, a location, an outdoor area, shopping mail, shop or library, or any other suitable environment. You can make it a fictional place, simulate a real one, or use actual images from a real place. It can be either still or moving, such as. The Window/Room can also be panned or zoomed to appear as though a user was moving within it. It can be n-dimensional where n equals 2, 2.5 and 3, 4, x, y and z and time (t), or more. To realize the time-space dimensions, you can include fast forward (FFW), slow movement (SM), and other video play and view options within the scope of the invention. Alternately, the Window/Room can also be used as a voice/audio/music recording and not have any video aspect. The Window/Room can contain text, audio, still images, streaming feeds, video and/or any other Content, as long as it is within the spirit and scope.

“As shown at 312, interactions between users in the sponsored Window/Room help create a shared experience among users from the same website or different web communities. Users can bring the Content they are viewing from their original web site into the sponsored Window/Room and also post additional Content to the Window/Room as a result of interactions with other users. One user might say, “Hey guys, have you seen this video?” The user then uploads a new video to the Window/Room, which is visible to all other users. Other users can reply to the new post by leaving comments or new posts to be shared with others in the Window/Room.

“As shown at 314, users have the option to invite others to join their Window/Room. This can be done by instant messaging, e mail, phone, drag and drop, or any other suitable method. A buddy can be added to, or retrieved from, a list. The buddy can then be invited to the?room’ by clicking in an IM sub-window under the buddy’s icon or name.

“Those skilled in the art will be able to appreciate that ADDnCLICK users have the ability to create ADDnCLICK Groups (like Yahoo Groups), in which they can invite other users and allow them to participate with stored or live sessions. Refer to FIGS. 6A-6D for a better understanding of this feature. 6A-6D.”

Advertisers can insert brand names, images, or objects into sponsored rooms that users can view or click on at 316. Clicking on an ad will take the user to either the advertiser’s website, or to its own Window/Room. Other users may have clicked on the same ad or from another Window/Room. There may be additional clickability in the Content presented within a branded Windows/Room.

“At 318 users can bookmark the Window/Room that they are currently viewing. A bookmark allows users to access all URLs for the content they are currently viewing in their Window/Room. The ADDnCLICK app can be used on the internet to create a virtual ‘underlayer’. The internet can be used to connect all members of any community (Google, YouTube, My Space MSN Yahoo, CyWorld etc.). to other people who are simultaneously engaged in similar content on the internet. The ADDnCLICK format can be proprietary and may be used in the same way as?.pdf? It can also be used in open-source formats. Authors or creators of Content add and click their digital Content (textual, audio, or video). It is uploaded to the internet and shared with others (who are also online at the time) who clicked on the same or similar content. Their “meeting”? Their?meeting? is at the ADDnCLICK Windows/Room. This Window/Room allows visitors from all web communities to interact live online with one another, communicate with each other, share, and possibly exchange content. The ADDnCLICK social networking platform allows members of younger user groups (such ADDnCLICK), to connect with older users (such Amazon, eBay Craigslist Yahoo! Google, Yahoo!, Google, and others). if they are simultaneously engaged in the same or similar content. In this way, the ADDnCLICK app allows users to be free from any limitations on social networking.

Rich content is understood to mean that rich content includes capturing more information from multiple sources and making it available to the user. The invention addresses privacy and anonymity concerns so users can conduct online searches without worrying about personal or confidential information. Search criteria, viewing habits, and other information might be visible by others, without the permission of the source.

FIG. 4 illustrates “A Viewer that forms part of the invention.” 4. An iconic flowchart. The ADDnCLICK viewer gives users the ability to link their instant messaging (IM), service to either the ADDnCLICK environment, or to their own IM program. Using the link, or access to IM, ADDnCLICK users can see who is online on their IM list at any given time. This is how IM establishes a persistent ‘rich presence? (as per internet industry standards for?rich existence? . . . see http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4480.txt) within the ADDnCLICK environment that, enables the user to determine the availability of other people for live communication and social networking. ADDnCLICK users can be connected via phone services over any media, wired and wireless, including local area networks and wide area networks, whether or not connected to the internet.

“At 402, the ADDnCLICK viewer gives the user tools to simultaneously communicate with other users within the ADDnCLICK. Window/Room can be used to communicate with other users via voice or text messaging. The user can upload Content to the Viewer at 404. After that they can use that Content to register on ADDnCLICK’s servers. This should be done with a description of what content is needed to associate it with other ADDnCLICK Content. This content could include content from the user’s device or embedded content links to other sites (e.g. YouTube.com). The file is called Content.

“In the Viewer, the user will be asked to log on to ADDnCLICK’s servers using his or her personal ID. Once logged in, ADDnCLICK’s servers allow the user access to his private ADDnCLICK. Remote access to the homepage can be done from any computer. This will allow the user to access all functionality of his ADDnCLICK. You can access your personal homepage on any computer, mobile phone, PDA or other internet-enabled device. Your homepage, no matter where it is.”

“At 406, ADDnCLICK software alerts the author (or the entity that has formatted Content within the ADDnCLICK Format) whenever someone visits author’s pages. This allows them to go online and interact with each other. The ADDnCLICK-enabled content can be uploaded to any website at 408, and then enjoyed and spread throughout the internet. Its full functionality won’t be as extensive as its dedicated ADDnCLICK Windows/Room. This encourages viewers to click on the Content to experience the immersive experience of being within an ADDnCLICK Windows/Room. They can also be connected live to other people who are simultaneously engaged in the same/similar Content.

“Summary Of User Registration and Viewing under the Invented ADDnCLICK Systems:”

To obtain a free ADDnCLICK viewer, the user will need to go to ADDnCLICK.com or to the website of an ADDnCLICK licensee to register his/her identity.

“Registration will include a description about the individual, based on criteria/parameters required by advertisers to post User specific ads of interest. The ADDnCLICK viewer will be sent to the user upon registration. The ADDnCLICK viewer will allow the user to link their existing Instant Messaging (IM), to either the ADDnCLICK environment, or to their own IM program. ADDnCLICK users will be able to view who is online via the link or access to IM. Using IM will create a persistent?presence? The ADDnCLICK environment allows the User to find other people available for communication. ADDnCLICK members may also be connected via phone services over any media. . . Email is also available. Privacy and anonymity are still protected, as you will see.

“In the ADDnCLICK viewer, the User will have tools to communicate via voice, video, or text with other Users in ADDnCLICK Windows/Rooms.”

“The ADDnCLICK viewer allows the user to upload content (into the Viewer), which they can use to register on ADDnCLICK’s servers. (With a description of Content that is to be associated with other ADDnCLICK content). You can view the file exported from the ADDnCLICK viewer in an ADDnCLICK window/room.

“ADDnCLICK software alerts the author (or entity that has formatted the content in the ADDnCLICK format) when someone visits the author?s pages, so they can interact online.”

“Summary Of Window/Room Types Used In the Context of The Invented System”

“1) Public Window/Room – When the User clicks on an ADDnCLICK’d Source of Content (i.e. When the User clicks on an ADDnCLICK’d source of Content (i.e.,. Window/Room in which he/she can interact with other users who clicked on similar ADDnCLICK’d content.

“(a) Users can invite other Users to any of the ADDnCLICK Windows/Rooms, Public, Private, Sponsored, via email, IM or other notification means for live, concurrent social network.”

“(b) Each ADDnCLICK Window/Room will contain a separate ADDnCLICK IM section/window. This allows users to add other ADDnCLICK members to their IM buddy lists by?dragging and dropping? The name of the other User can be added to the IM window or any other way.

“(c) Users can add Content to the Public ADDnCLICK Window/Room, or delete it from that ADDnCLICK Window/Room.

“(d) Users can?bookmark? They can save the URL address of any Content they see in the Window/Room to be viewed later.

“(e) Users can drag and drop content. “(e) Users will be able to?drag and drop content from one ADDnCLICK window/Room (regardless of whether the Window/Room’s are public, private, group, or sponsored).

“(f) Every ADDnCLICK Window/Room can have a toolbar for?Search? A User can search for what they are looking for, and be taken to an ADDnCLICK Window/Room with the ADDnCLICK Content. You can view the search results as if they are ‘live’. (i.e. clicked on by another user at the time) or selected from the entire Content pool that has been ADDnCLICK?d. Once the search result has been clicked on, the User can either be in an existing ADDnCLICK Room to view the information with other present users (including similar Content) or in their own ADDnCLICK Windows/Room.

“(g) Users can upload Content to the Window/Room in either the Public or Private ADDnCLICK Windows/Rooms. The content will be played simultaneously and in the order that the broadcast is. You can upload videos to the Window/Room and have them play on a separate display so that viewers can view the video the same way they would TV. You can also do the same with photos and newsfeeds.

“2) Private Window/Room – A user can have his/her own private ADDnCLICK Window/Room for his/her Device/browser.”

“(a) The User has the ability to drag-and-drop content from the Public Window/Room into their Private Window/Room.”

“(b) Bookmarked contents are stored in the User?s Private Window/Room.”

“(c) While in the Sponsored or Public Window/Room, a User can invite another user to his or her private Window/Room to share information and communicate with a restricted audience.”

“(d) Users can create multiple private ADDnCLICK Windows/Rooms from their Device, just like they can create multiple??folders? ”

“(e) Advertisements will be placed in the Private ADDnCLICK Windows/Rooms. They are directed at the User’s particulars and/or the User’s searches within ADDnCLICK Windows/Rooms.”

FIG. 5 illustrates the use of public windows/rooms. 5. An iconic flowchart. When a user clicks on an ADDnCLICK source of Content, he/she is placed in a public Window/Room. This allows them to interact with other users who clicked on similar ADDnCLICK Content. Users can invite others to any of the ADDnCLICK Windows/Rooms (Public, Private, Group, Sponsored or Group) by e-mail, IM or other suitable communication or notification. Users have an ADDnCLICK IM Window in every room they enter. This allows them to add other ADDnCLICK members to their IM buddy lists (by dragging and dropping the name of another user into the IM window). FIG. 5A-6D.”

“At 506, users can add Content to the Public ADDnCLICK Window/Room, or delete it from that ADDnCLICK Window/Room. This Content can be images/video taken from the user’s computer, other device, or embedded images/video links to other sites (e.g. YouTube.com). Users can bookmark the URL address for any Content that they see in the Window/Room. Users can drag-and-drop Content to a media “tray”, as illustrated at 510. This will allow users to drag-and-drop Content into a media?tray (regardless of whether the Window/Room’s are Public, Private, Group or Sponsored).

“As illustrated at 512 is a search toolbar which facilitates searching and transports the user to an ADDnCLICK Window/Room containing the ADDnCLICK content the user is looking for. Search results can be “live?” (i.e. Clicked on by an online user at the time, or from all Content that has been ADDnCLICKed. After clicking on the search result, the user can choose to be in an existing ADDnCLICK Room to view the information with other users (including similar Content). Or, the user can view all Content in their own Personal ADDnCLICK Windows/Room.

“When you search for e.g. Google search results will alert users if other people have searched for the same topic. Users can also receive a desktop and IM, e mail, video, voice, audio, or text message (via telephone, cell phone, VoIP), as well as a desktop. ), audio, text message, or other means that alerts users to the fact that someone is in a ADDnCLICK Window/Room and is interested in the same/similar topic as them. The software system can help you determine your interest.

“Finally as illustrated at 514 users can save Content to the Window/Room so that they can be displayed simultaneously and continuously to one another. Users can upload videos to the Window/Room and have them play on a separate screen. This allows viewers to watch the video in the same way they would TV. This means that users can watch multiple videos at once. You can also tile photos, news feeds and audio with any type of content.

“3) Sponsored ADDnCLICK Room/Window:”

“(a) Sponsored ads placed on the walls and in other areas of the ADDnCLICK Window/Room will direct the User to their website or to the sponsor?s ADDnCLICK Window/Room, which could allow the user to connect with others who are interested in the ads. To make items/objects clickable within their Sponsored ADDnCLICK Windows/Room, the sponsor can use existing high-end tools.

“4” Group ADDnCLICK Window/Room

“(a) Users from different groups can interact and simultaneously view Content from other websites or other groups in a Group ADDnCLICK Windows/Room. The present invention allows group participation across the entire internet community. Users can interact with each other by engaging in similar content.

“Thus, ADDnCLICK. Windows/Rooms (1) can be in an n-dimensional flat or have depth; (2) can contain a single?Area/Wall. You can have multiple Areas/Walls, some of which may or not be connected (i.e. There might be a space that separates two or more Areas/Walls; (3) can be a sequence of Areas/Walls or an array of them; (4) can be seen on a display; and (5) can represent a virtual scene, environment, a scene or a landscape; and (5) can include desktops, furniture, software applications, accessories or decorations as well as transparencies (e.g. of websites, documents, and web pages. against a visual background. These web pages, documents, websites, etc., can be edited, presented, and viewed on a computer, a Personal Digital Assistant, a cell phone, or any device that can connect to the internet. These, both in combination and as a single entity, are all contemplated.

“Brief summary, once Content is in the ADDnCLICK format:

“1. Someone reads, listens to, views, or otherwise engages in Content. Click on either the Content, or a logo that indicates that it has been ADDnCLICKed (i.e. registered on ADDnCLICK. Inc.’s servers).

“2” The viewer is placed in an ADDnCLICK Window/Room that displays the content of their device. It contains multiple Areas/Walls that correspond to the following: one Area/Wall that relates to the Content being read, viewed, or listened (pre-click), including video, music, text, photos, blogs and vlogs (video blogs), as well as live or recorded news.

“3) One Area/Wall is the full/partial display of what the viewer clicked on. The viewer can view size-adjustable (i.e. scalable) screens that show what viewers are currently viewing. Users are then linked into a Window/Room that is based on their engagement in the same/similar Content. This sameness/similarity can be determined by metadata, tag-based, or more/less sophisticated, e.g. It can be literal or nuanced, depending on whether there is less or more complex correlation. artificial intelligence (AI), engines

“4) The viewer is now in the ADDnCLICK Window/room and can move about the room to interact or the Content of other viewers. For example, the avatar could be a human or an object that has the viewer’s photo.

“5) The user can view, listen, or read Content related to the subject he/she is viewing/listening to. This Area/Wall contains multiple snippets from the same or different websites that other users have brought to the ADDnCLICK room from their web communities. The ADDnCLICK invention allows users to connect with other users in a live social network. Talking with other viewers in the Window/Room allows them to collectively view any large-screen viewings of a specific video snippet that has been initiated by someone in that ADDnCLICK Window/Room. This is now a shared experience for the community.

“6” As described in FIGS. “6” As described in FIGS. Only one thing is required for users to access the ADDnCLICK Shared Browser. Members of various web communities, such as YouTube, Cyworld and Flickr, will be able to share their browsing experiences in the shared browsing environment. You can share your web pages and other content in one environment, the ADDnCLICK area. Through the ADDnCLICK platform, users will be able drag-and-drop or upload content to one web community/webpage. This feature allows users to share a richer, unlimited social experience with other users across all web communities.

“7) Users can ask other users in the ADDnCLICK Window/Room questions, for assistance in searches, for advice, and to participate in social or collective buying on ecommerce sites. They can also co-browse the internet from one site to another, share and exchange content, and so forth. Communication is done in accordance to the invention via VoIP, IM SMS, text messaging and cell phone, landline or any other suitable communication medium.

“8. Brand advertising can be placed on one or more Areas/Walls within the ADDnCLICK environment. It can be tailored to individual viewers’ interests. The ADDnCLICK Window/room will contain areas that include a picture frame or other graphical area for insertion ads from ad delivery companies. Upon registration with ADDnCLICK, the characteristic qualification criteria used by ad-insertion firms are used to profile the user. These ads can be clicked or not.

“9) Viewers can earn points by referring others to ADDnCLICK, and any sales or revenue generated by their presence in the ADDnCLICK environment.”

“FIGS. 6A-6D illustrate some of the design elements and graphic user interfaces (GUI) characteristics of the invention according to one embodiment. Specifically, FIG. FIG. 6A shows an ADDnCLICK window with built-in IM technology and browser technology. It includes a chat subwindow 600, a buddylist sub-window 602 as well as a browser subwindow 604. FIG. FIG. 6B shows an ADDnCLICK window with guest cursors 606 which are visible to all participants and used as pointers for Content discussion in sub-window 604. Any guest can be granted passive privileges by the host to view, click or enter text in the environment. FIG. FIG. 6B illustrates that the host cursor 608 can be seen and is active. Finally, FIG. FIG. 6B shows in a sub-window of 610 active friends (?Participants?). Invited to the shared web browsing experience. All participants can see the same thing through their browsers and can also see each other’s cursors.

“FIG. 6C shows that the host can pull in any page currently loaded into a new type of shared web browsing interface. FIG. FIG. 6D shows a list of 612 favorite websites that the host and all participants can add to. To identify sites that are related, folders can be created. At 614, you can see a preview of the highlighted page. The history grid 616 shows a thumbnail view for every page visited. It can be sorted by site, most recent visits or any other criteria. This allows for a more collaborative and visual way to locate what the group is searching for. According to one embodiment of the invention the thumbnails can be scaled. They can be adjusted by using a slider 618.

“Those skilled in the art will recognize that any input device can be used to point and click on the system and use it in other ways. A combination of a standard keyboard, chordic, or Braille mouse can be used. A touch-sensitive screen screen, a microphone with voice-recognition, a webcam, or other eyegaze or gesture-or image-responsive control, a mic with voice-recognition, a webcam, or other suitable pointing device, a switch for clicking, handwriting, or handwriting on a tablet can all be used. Software, firmware, hardware, and any other suitable input or cursor control device can be used. infrared, radio frequency (RF), and other wireless or wired (e.g. cable), conveyance.”

“Thought control is used to input data, control and click a cursor to access an ADDnCLICK area. These futuristic devices and systems can be thought analysis and/or conscious/unconscious thought control and/or analytic, which allows users to read the context and specific ideas of their thoughts. Or, they can express themselves directly without external speech or gestures. “See, for instance.”

“Real-time translation of language is being considered as part of the invented system. Global communities can chat in an ADDnCLICK Room/Window without having to speak another language. The ADDnCLICK windows and?rooms can be used to search for ADDnCLICKable content. The search for ADDnCLICK-able content, ADDnCLICK windows,?rooms? and the voices of visitors can all be translated into other languages. Once the search is complete, the results can then be translated. An ADDnCLICK Window/Room/Wall could allow for translation between ADDnCLICK users. This includes text, voice, and any other communication format, even those that are designed for disabled people. Chatting with someone in France who doesn’t speak English is now possible in real-time and without any delay. This is possible by using existing software, e.g. Babel or future language-translation software.

“FIGS. “FIGS. The invention allows for persistent presence of one or more users. This is achieved by combining the existing Instant Messaging service with the Window/Room, Area/Wall and communication parts of the system software. A persistent sub-window can be viewed in an opened window using the GUI. This could allow for the sub-window that lists IM users and so-called friends who are online at any time to make their Presence known in the room. The invention tool makes it persistent and easily accessible to the user. The user’s friends Jack Robinson, Peter Muller, and Wallace Glausi are now Present in the Window/Room because they were all part of the sub-window 602 IM buddies list.

The invention’s spirit and scope includes the idea of a virtual shopping trip with friends or family. As long as the mall or shop is accessible from anywhere in the world, the friends and/or relatives can go. One can take another person who likes shopping (or another who doesn’t like shopping due to crowds, travel, or other reasons) on a virtual shopping trip. They might begin looking for a blouse and then find themselves in a virtual shopping area that has themes in the form videos or stills, possibly rendered in 3D, with clickable Content. According to the invention, the content can be rich and include virtual shops staffed by virtual salespeople and other shoppers. These shoppers or salespeople might have purchased clothing items that were viewed by the virtual shoppers. They might also share their experiences with the virtual shoppers, and even show them where they bought the clothes. These shoppers or salespeople can either be part of the rich content or other visitors to the Window/Room that represents the shop visited, as detailed above.

“One can shop online and try on clothes, look at items, test drive cars, and so forth. You can also communicate with other shoppers who may have valuable opinions on the virtual shopper?s preferences.

This new virtual community could be used to integrate technologies such as the virtual selves (a mannequin that is one’s size, weight, and hairstyle) so the shopper can imagine how they would look in a new outfit with a new accessory, new haircut, touring a house, driving a yacht or car, and meeting new people. The invention allows for the creation of many communities, such as book clubs, shopping clubs, education sites, travel clubs, and other types of community. The key point is that one does not need to be alone, nor is one invisible (unless anonymity is desired). Furthermore, one cannot limit their interactions with other members of a single community. (The present invention allows users to connect to all the web communities on-line). One can see and be heard (e.g. Voice over internet Protocol (VoIP technology) allows one to be seen and heard, and can engage in rich virtual worlds that are only limited by one’s imagination.

“With the ADDnCLICK invention users will be able to share their desktops and/or display areas with other devices/desktops and simultaneously view and experience their shared Content. Participants can bring in content to share. Participants will be able point with their cursors or graphical means at objects/subjects that are on their desktop/Device. This will make them visible on all other desktops/Devices. All participants will be able to see any pointing done by them (either with a cursor, or some other method) on their desktop/Device.

“As described at FIGS. 1CCC-1HHH allows multiple users to simultaneously browse, discuss, and interact with the same web pages or Content in the ADDnCLICK room. All you need to be online is the ADDnCLICK. The Shared Web Browser. Shared browsing allows members from different web communities (such YouTube, MySpace and Flickr, for example) to simultaneously browse the internet together. You can simultaneously share your web pages and other content in the ADDnCLICK area. Through the ADDnCLICK platform, users can drag and drop content or upload it to other web communities/web pages. This feature allows users to share a richer, unlimited social experience with other users through all web communities. It is: (i) not restricted to one community; (ii); interactive; (iii); and (iv); in one central platform.

“Imagery, such as branding, can be embedded real-time in a?live’ experience. Virtual experiences can be created. A viewer could click on a brand insert to see virtual product rooms, virtual meetings rooms, and other features while they are still in the video. Clicking on the McDonald’s brand insertion could place the viewer in a virtual social networking room, which is fully branded by McDonalds?. This would give advertisers greater exposure and more viewers. The viewer could click on the clothing brand to be taken into a virtual store and interact with others. Interaction could involve seeing and speaking with, e.g. Via voice-recognition software or VoIP, mobile phone, landline, or cell phone, other viewers can create a virtual network in the virtual room to share their experiences, such as trying on virtual clothes, getting recommendations from others for other stores, talking to sales representatives, and making new friends. They can also view other videos together in the Window/Room. The advertiser’s brand can be exposed almost continuously throughout all of this.

“When you search for something (e.g. Google), the search results and its contents can ALERT users if there are other people online who have clicked onto the same or similar topic of the user’s search. Google) will display search results with their contents. This alerts users if other people have clicked on the same topic or similar to the user’s search and are within an ADDnCLICK Window/Room. The user can also receive alerts to ADDnCLICK groups containing content, comments, and so forth. Information that they, or others have contributed to. This information can also include historical information such as what you find in Yahoo Groups.

“Users have the option to receive a desktop or IM, e mail, voice message, text message, call, or desktop (e.g. via phone, cell-phone or VoIP They are ALERTED to when someone is in an ADDnCLICK Room/Window on a topic in that they have an interest. This can be based on previous searches in ADDnCLICK. They have visited Windows/Rooms, or any other criteria. To search for the Content that the user is interested in, a persistent query can be sent to the ADDnCLICK Database from anywhere online or to any other database.

Summary for “Linking users to live social networking interactions based upon the users’ actions relative content”
