Inventors and Patents From the City of El Segundo
In the past week alone, there have been two El Segundo Inventors who have received patents. These two were granted their patents in the week of May 7.
This week, two Inventors and Patents From the city of El Segundo were awarded patents. The patents cover a type of aminopyrimidine that is used as a kinase inhibitor. Inventors that are credited with establishing the patent are Michael O’Donnell, Sham Ramaya, Alistair Rutherford, and Dean Boyall.
Inventors living in the city have been recognized in the national arena. One of the recent patents has been assigned to Activision Publishing, which is located in Santa Monica, Calif. It covers a guitar controller for a music video game. The inventors are Michael Chrzanowski and Clark Wen. The patent was filed on Nov. 5, 2012. While the city of El Segundo is a small town, it is a significant center for innovation.
Another Inventor from El Segundo is named in a patent that covers a method for anchoring mobile subscribers and reducing forwarding state for wireless communication systems. The patent is issued to Juniper Networks, and the co-inventors are Srinivasa Chaganti, a computer programmer from San Ramon, Calif.; Madhu Sudan of Union City; and Sanjeev Hemantkumar Desai, of San Jose, Calif.; and Raman S. Krishnan of Cupertino, Calif.

The past week was a good one for El Segundo inventors. Two local companies received patents for their inventions. Phase Four, Inc. filed for a patent on Oct. 19, 2018, and its application was approved on Jan. 25, 2019. The El Segundo inventors have been busy. A total of seven patents were issued in January. The numbers are encouraging, but the process can be expensive.
Inventors in El Segundo have a diverse range of backgrounds. Some of them are local residents. One is Ellen Ochoa, who received a U.S. Patent on her invention. In 1993, she became the first Hispanic woman in space. Another is Alejandro Zaffaroni, who was born in Uruguay. His inventions have been licensed to Mattel and other companies.
