Abstract for “Genes encoding baeyer-villiger monooxygenases”

“Genes that encode Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenase activities have been identified from a variety bacteria. These genes and their products can be used to convert ketones into the appropriate esters. As a diagnostic tool for genes that encode proteins involved in this activity, a series of motifs has been identified.
